Upgrading A MicroVal To A RefleX

     Virtually any older existing MicroVal can be upgraded to a RefleX because a RefleX really is simply a MicroVal with a fancy paint job and a couple of minor changes.  Prime Tech and some of our other distributors have had very good luck with this.  Here are 3 things to keep in mind.

1.)  If the MicroVal is older, and does not have a Z-mouse, you will need to use the "2 button scan/done assembly" (included).

2.)  When the new RefleX is installed, be sure to remove the trim boards.  Although no damage is done if they are left on, RefleX no longer needs them and they place extra, unwanted stress on the conectors on the back of the controller.  If the MicroVal is older and has the trim boards integrated into the cables, simple leave them on.

3.)   Older MicroVals probably won't be able to use the new air saver option because they are lacking a valve that keeps the Z-rail from dropping.  If customer really desires an Air Saver, you will have to add a special valve to the air hoses above the Z-rail.  MicroExcel RefleXs can always have an AirSaver.

• MMI or MMII upgrade to RefleX on a MicroXcel 588-9000-25B (US)
• MMI or MMII upgrade to RefleX on a MicroVal 588-8000-25A  (Europe)
• MMI or MMII upgrade to RefleX on a MicroXcel 588-8000-25B (Europe)

Here's what is included in the package:

• RefleX software and storage cards.
• RefleX controller with support arm.
• Two button 'scan/done' assembly.
• Manuals.
• 1 year waranty.

1. Order one of above packages. Make sure to include the serial number of machine when ordering.
2. Wait for package to arrive.  (usually 4-6 weeks, based on availability)
3. Remove old controller.
4. Remove trim boards if possible.
5. Install new RefleX controller.
6. Use Z-mouse if available, otherwise install Scan/Done button assembly.
7. Verify compensation file has been transferred sucessfully by looking at the top right corner of the home screen.  This number should match the number on the back of the machine.
8. Microval or MicroExcel has now been fully upgraded to RefleX status.
